Hello,

My name is Alexiane Hildbrand, and I currently live on a campsite in Haarlem, the Netherlands, while doing an internship in communication (design, graphic design, motion design, photography) at Wijstudio in Amsterdam, from August 2025 to mid-March 2026.

The site you are visiting is the result of a project for the admission competition at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), for the Visual Communication Bachelor program starting in autumn 2026. The assigned theme was Trace (en), Spur (de).

This theme inspired me to explore all the traces I leave here, in this flat country, by bike. I decided to create an interactive site that lets users explore these routes in detail.

The style of the site is minimalist, raw, and almost scientific, with an absurd, humorous touch: repetitive, analytical, but never boring.

The site offers:

• An interactive map showing my routes, where only bodies of water, canals, and the sea are visible. Each route is detailed on a separate page with all the information.
• A total page, providing a quick overview of all my traces.
• A gallery of my bikes, used daily during this period.
• A quiz, to have fun with various mini-games and test your knowledge of my cycling adventures.

For this project, I used ChatGPT to help with some JavaScript coding as well as for generating certain textual content.
